Because the Spring/Summer catalogue is soooo fantastic, it’s easy to forget all of the beautiful products in the main catalogue so I thought it was time to revisit it!
How pretty is this DSP? Just perfect for my Spring tissue box cover (these measurements fit the Kleenex Rectangle ‘cube’ box of tissues). Here’s how I made it…
Cut 2 pieces of Crumb Cake Cardstock measuring 10″ x 5 ¼. Score them both at 4″ & 8 ½” and then with the short side at the top, score at 4 ¾”. Overlap the pieces, sticking the 1 ½” section to the inside of the 4″ section. Cut all the scorelines up to the ½” scoreline (4 cuts) This should then line up perfectly to fold over and glue the other 1 ½” section to the other 4″ section forming the cube shape. Cut the following DSP – 2 pieces measuring 4″ x 4 ¼”, 2 measuring 3 ½” x 4 ¼” and 1 piece of 4″ x 3 ½” for the top. Stick the side pieces to the box, ensuring the scored edge is to the top of the box. Place the cover over your tissue box, add Tombow adhesive to the 4 corners of the scored edge and fold to form the border for the lid. Cut a piece of 4″ x 4 ½” Crumb Cake Cardstock for the lid. Attach the DSP and on the other side, draw a line in pencil from corner to corner – this will help you to centre the framelits. Cut the opening in the centre of the lid using the 3rd smallest framelit from the Ovals Collection. I also cut a rim in coordinating cardstock using the 3rd and 4th smallest framelits – centre one inside of the other. This helps to reinforce the opening. Add tombow to the top edges of the cover and attach the lid. Finally, punch out some flowers using the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack and add a pearl in the centre of each. xx
