Are you still wondering which day/month we’re in?! I’m convinced we should still be in December (where did Christmas go?!)
So if you’re like me, you need this cute little desk calendar in your life! Here’s how I made it…
Take a piece of Whisper White 11½” x 6″ and score on the long side at ½”, 2″, 3½” & 7½”. With the 2 larger sections at the top, stamp the balloon strings from the gorgeous Balloon Celebration Stamp Set towards the right of the 2nd section. Holding the stamped section, fold the top & bottom sections away from you so you can only see the stamp (I will be starting videos soon – much easier to explain!) Then mountain, valley, mountain folds to create a concertina effect. With the concertina folded up, the skinny strip should be at the top of the pile. Put tear and tape along the length and stick to the back of the calendar to form the stand.
Cut 4″ x 3½” Pool Party cardstock and attach to the left hand side of the calendar, leaving an even boarder on the 3 sides. The gorgeous ice cream paper is from Birthday Bouquet DSP in the new Spring/Summer catalogue. Cut to 3 ¾” x 3¼” and centre on the Pool Party cardstock. Take another piece of Pool Party cardstock measuring 3¼” x 2¼” and stick at an angle onto the DSP. Finally add your calendar blank (I bought mine in The Range in the UK)
For the balloons, I used Pool Party, Mint Macaron, Blushing Bride, Watermelon Wonder and So Saffron inks but it would still look lovely with just one or two inks. Stamp the small balloon outline and the balloon ‘dots’ from the Balloon Celebration Stamp Set onto Whisper White cardstock, stamping each one off once first to get the softer colours. Punch out with the new Ballon Bouquet punch and arrange on the calendar using a mix of Glue Dots and Dimensionals to get them to stand out. Stamp ‘Enjoy Your Day’ from You’re So Lovely Stamp Set in Pool Party, punch out with the Word Window Punch and lightly sponge the edges in Pool Party. I added the amazing (and quite frankly my new best friend!) Clear Wink Of Stella Glitter Brush to the balloons and around the edge of the sentiment. Cut a strip from the edge of your Dimensionals and pop the sentiment over the balloon strings.
